HTC rumored to be rolling out phablet alternative to upcoming Galaxy Note 2 – the HTC Droid DNA

Strong rumors indicate that HTC will be rolling out a new phablet device (cross between a smartphone and tablet), the HTC Droid DNA, to take on the upcoming LG Intuition and Galaxy Note 2. The new device is expected sometime after November 20, 2012. The design is expected to include a 5-inch display (smaller than Samsung Galaxy Note 2’s 5.5-inch screen), 1080p resolution (compared to 720p on the Galaxy Note 2) at 420ppi (some reports indicate the display quality will be less than this), 2GB RAM, quad-core processor, and either Android Jelly Bean 4.1 or 4.2. It will and at Verizon first. Early leaks indicate it will be priced at $199 on contract. Early names of the device include HTC DLX and Droid Incredible X.
Update 11/13/12: most of the rumors were spot on. Differences and confirmations being the display is 400ppi, running Android Jelly Bean 4.1.
