Windows Blue to be introduced as Windows 8.1
// May 14th, 2013 // Operating Systems
It’s official. Windows Blue, the upcoming update to Windows 8 that addresses at least some of the many complaints user have about the new OS, has been christened Windows 8.1. The upgrade will be free to Windows 8 users and made available from the Home screen when it launches later in the year. The update will be delivered to both versions of the OS (the full desktop version and RT). The update is expected to provide tighter Sky Drive integration, improved operability with smaller form factors (i.e. sub-10" tablets), Internet Explorer 11, and possibly a boot directly to the desktop or at least the option of retaining the old Start Button.
