How do I get free shipping?

If you order enough stuff, we can absorb the shipping costs without going broke. Thus, we offer FREE SHIPPING for repeat and high-volume customers.

I didn’t hit the required minimum but still got free shipping. Home come?

99% of the time, if we import the item, we can absorb or reduce the shipping cost into the price of the product. The shipping arrangements with our suppliers can be complicated but suffice to say, we pass the savings on to you.

Which shipping method do I choose?

Shipping methods are determined automatically by the system based on product weight, size, etc. In most cases, the choice will be between USPS First Class and USPS Priority. The Post Office gives USPS Priority mail priority over other mail. First Class delivery typically takes 3 days. Priority Mail is quicker and typically takes 2 days.

What delivery time should I expect?

Most orders are processed within 1-3 business days and usually within 24 hours of receiving the order. Delivery takes around 2-3 days but can take up to 6 days depending on your location. You can view our complete shipping policy here.

What is your return policy?

Each product shipped from Geek Slop is carefully inspected twice – once when the product is received from our wholesaler and a second time when it is prepared for shipment to our customers. Quality control is important to us to ensure we never ship an item that is damaged in any way.

However, if you are unhappy with a product, we provide 30 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it. To be eligible for a return, the item must be unused (not worn, not opened) and in the same condition that you received it. Since most of our products are collectables, the returned item must be in the original, unopened package to receive full credit.

Once we receive your item, we will inspect it and notify you regarding the status of your refund. When the return is approved, we will initiate a store credit to your account. Items are approved if they arrive to us in the same condition that they left us in. If the return is not approved, we must return the product to you using COD shipping.

Pop Culture Collectibles

Do pop culture collectibles always increase in value?

Our nerds are pop-culture collectible gurus. We understand some people collect for pleasure while others collect for value. Regardless, the value of pop culture collectibles *always* increases over time – the real question is, “how long will it take to increase in value”. The more popular or rare the collectible, the faster its value appreciates (rises).

To ensure we grab the most desirable collectables available, we use innovative Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to monitor the pop culture market. We also monitor the value of our customers’ collectibles even after we’ve sold them. We will even proactively notify our customers when the value of their collectible has substantially increased.

Do the prices of your collectibles change? How do you price your collectibles?

Brand new collectible items are priced at market value – what you’d pay anywhere else or lower. But as the available inventory decreases, our Artificial Intelligence (AI) engine automatically begins adjusting the price upward. Similarly, as an item ages it appreciates over time automatically too. This is all automated by our systems. If a price becomes higher than the fair market value, we strike the dynamic pricing mechanism, reset the price, or place the item on sale.

Note that the dynamic pricing mechanism only applies to collectables. Clothing, science gadgets, puzzles, toys, electronics, etc. do not dynamically adjust their prices automatically. But for collectable items, it does pay to grab the item quickly, while there are plenty in stock. Otherwise, the price is only going to go up over time.

How are collectables shipped?

Forget the big-brand retailers. Geek Slop understands pop culture collectors. We take great care to ensure the collectable arrives at your doorstep in the same condition it came to us from the manufacturer. Collectable items, even boxed items, are wrapped in tissue to help prevent scratches. When placed in the shipping box, items are then padded and packed to reduce the chance of damage. We use only the highest quality shipping boxes and seal all corners and seams with two layers of tape to reduce the risk of water/liquid damage during transit.

What are the grades of the collectables you sell?

Items sold at geek slop are guaranteed to be in the same condition they were in when we receive them. We understand collectors and take great care to ensure the best possible condition of the items we sell. In some instances, we note the grade in the product description (see the product’s Additional Details section). The grades are defined as follows:

1 – Collector’s Grade: Item is brand new, unopened, and as near to mint condition as possible. Item has been inspected, graded, and verified before being specially packaged and sealed to preserve its condition. For the discerning collector who wants a mint item and is willing to pay premium price.

2 – Standard Grade: Item is brand new and fresh out of the case. It is in mint condition, but packaging could have slight scrapes or rubbing. Suitable for opening or for display in the package.

3 – Slightly Below Standard Grade: Item is new and unopened but may have rubbing, scratches, or slight dents on the package. It is still in collectable condition.

4 – Package Damaged Grade: Packaging is damaged – torn, creased, or cracked – but item inside is in good condition. Suitable for display outside the package.

5 – Damaged Product: Packaging and product may be damaged, would not be suitable for display but could still function as a toy for play or used for parts.

Ungraded: Item has not been graded or grading is not applicable.

Comic book collectibles

What comic titles do you offer?

We offer titles from a wide variety of publishers. Most titles we offer are packaged in collector “packs”. The titles are selected for their collectability. For instance, they may be first issues, new character or villain introductions, or titles with significant storyline changes. The comic is then packaged with all variant covers in a “pack”. This makes it easy for you to build a valuable collection of the most desirable titles.

How are comic books shipped?

All of our comic books are individually bagged and boarded using materials specifically designed for collectible literature (e.g., acid free packaging). Individual bags are not taped unless they arrived to us already bagged, boarded, and taped. The bagged/boarded comic book pack is then bagged a second time. Our packaging ensures the comic book is well preserved and protected.

Finally, bagged and boarded comic books are shipped in sturdy mailers designed specifically for comic books and magazine literature. This helps ensure your purchase arrives in the best shape possible.
